A MAP27 to RS232 converter board for use with all MPT trunked radios. Allows the easy exchange of data between a trunked radio and other external equipment.
The T640 converter board is for use with all MPT trunked mobiles (T2030, T2032, T2035 and T2040) and is fitted in conjunction with a single port UART (T2000-A66).
The converter board allows the easy exchange of data between a trunked radio and other external equipment (for example, a computer or MDT). The use of this board eliminates the need for a MAP27 stack (the trunking protocol) to be installed on the device controlling the radio, making it very simple and cost effective for customers to integrate their own devices with a trunked radio solution.
Applications could include:
* Connection to a MDT for two-way data communications between a mobile and a despatcher. An example might be a service fleet being controlled via a central operations despatch centre.
* A remote monitoring application (for example, a river level monitor - 3rd party). Information could be periodically sent via a data capable mobile to a centralised site or be polled by an operator as required.
